Welcome to the Summer Hockey Academy, brought you by CB43 Hockey.
This summer hockey program has deep roots in the game. Lead by Chicago Blackhawks forward Colin Blackwell, this summer training program focuses on a plethora of skill development both on and off the ice that will help translate into today’s fast-pace game. With a main focus on skating and power skating, dedication to individual skills, and overall “hockey sense” development through situational mini-games, this formula is what allowed Colin to reach the NHL level. Growing up in Massachusetts, Colin trained and worked for the legendary skills coach Paul Vincent, who was a skills and skating instructor in the NHL for over 30+ years. At a young age, Colin was encouraged to work on his skating stride over playing in summer tournaments, which influenced his hockey development at a faster rate. To this day, Colin continues to spend his off-seasons training under this mindset, helping lead him to a Division 1 college career at Harvard University and professional career spanning 8 seasons, with over 250 NHL games and 180 AHL games played respectively, as well as internationally for Team USA at World Championships.
